As the (Sr) Director Active Ingredient Procurement, you will play a critical role in aligning our category portfolio with the overall company portfolio transformation. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing strategic changes that drive growth and innovation. This role requires a forward-thinking leader who can foster high-level supplier partnerships and position dsm-firmenich as customer of choice in their innovation and commercial strategies.

**Your key responsibilities**
- Oversee the Procurement strategy and its execution, for the managed category in scope.
- Manage the scope of the entrusted global Category to deliver results for the whole group, ensuring alignment with own BU and other client BUs objectives to align Category objectives to Group, BU’s and Product Value Proposition.
- Drive strategic supplier partnership, position dsm-firmenich as customer of choice in their innovation and commercial strategies. Strengthen their commitment to responsible sourcing agenda and secure C-level sponsorship behind strategic initiatives. Manage transformation of Category portfolio in sync with company portfolio.
- Ensure integration, specialization and performance of Procurement with Product Management, Commercial operations and Supply Chain to constantly maximize the growth (or protection) of Margin, Revenue and Value Proposition.
- Constantly reassess the value stream of managed Category to sustain a compelling Value proposition to customers.
- Contribute to competitors’ analysis, monitor trading services, contracts and risk management activities.
- Design, develop and organize the strategic portfolio and the resource required to accomplish Category and BU targets.
- Tightly navigate the balance between driving Supplier innovation and respecting the boundaries on potential conflict of interest with Suppliers on competitive information that might enter dsm-firmenich markets.
- Drive a coherent Strategy that leverage and not jeopardize the different competitive needs of multiple segments.
- Stay abreast of experimental innovation on the backdrop of very mature industrial processes.
- Represent dsm-firmenich in contacts with Strategic suppliers, working at CEO/GM level within counterpart organization to drive a common strategic agenda.
- Partners with key internal stakeholders to drive strategic change and decisions that can pivot the business.
- Collaborate tightly with Product Management, Commercial, Finance, Supply Chain, R&D, Legal and other necessary departments to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company.

**You bring**
- In-depth knowledge of sourcing and procurement principles and best practices (10+ years of experience).
- Professional working knowledge of finance and/or accounting in terms of cost management, budgeting, treasury, engineering, operations and risk management.
- Agility to steer a category proven to be exposed with continued volatility within a fierce competition landscape, evolving commercial strategies, increasing Regulatory, customer and sustainability requirements and a consolidated base of suppliers with limited differentiation.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels (C-level, Senior management, Peers and Team).
- Solid partnership creation between Product Management, Commercial, Finance, Supply Chain, R&D, Legal and other necessary departments to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company.
- Experience in collaboration at executive levels, with highly differentiated business units and functional partners.
