Physics Modeling Internship:

Sony AI is looking for a talented Physics Modeling Intern to join our Zurich/Tokyo-based team for a 6-month internship (early start dates preferred).

Role:
The intern will contribute on the development of our understanding of the physical system through the design and execution of experiments and the use of the results to develop/improve simulation physical models to be used in a real-time AI/robotics setup.

**Responsibilities**:
- Collect data through physical experiments in a realistic setup- Analyze collected data, assess suitability with the current simulation model and eventually suggest improvements- Deploy the updated models and validate with robotics/AI deployment setup

Competencies:
- Creative problem solver, to be able to think on their feet and come up with unique solutions based on an in-depth state-of-art literature review.- Software development skills (C++, Python).- Data analysis and statistics- Knowledge of rigid and elastic dynamics (depending on the problem considered)- Strong mathematical fundamentals, including linear algebra and calculus.- Organized and detailed-orientated mindset.- Motivated and energetic- Confident in English- Bonus points for:

- Modelling of physical systems using machine learning and data-driven approaches
- Advanced knowledge of collision and fluid dynamics
- Knowledge in techniques to understand uncertainties
