Our Client is a biotech startup based in Schlieren, Zurich that develops advanced binding molecules for pharmaceutical partners based on Designed Ankyrin Repeat Proteins (DARPins). **Responsibilities**:

- o Leading molecular biology research activities, incl. cloning, DNA library generation, as well as in vitro selection and screening of Athebody® DARPins;
- o Designing, executing, optimizing, and further developing ribosome display selections;
- o Supervising, mentoring, and training other team members;
- o Ensuring high quality of all molecular biology research activities;
- o Analyzing, interpreting, documenting data, and presenting results to the R&D and management team;
- o Maintain and constantly expand your scientific and technical expertise;
- o Actively contribute to creating, shaping, and executing the scientific and strategic vision of the company.

**Requirements**:

- o Ph.D. in molecular biology (or equivalent education) with at least 3 years’ industrial or academic research experience with an emphasis on the selection of immunoglobulins or other binding proteins (experience with ribosome display would be a plus);
- o Dedication to hands-on work in the lab and to improving complex protocols and workflows is crucial;
- o Strong foundation in molecular biology. Solid understanding, expertise, and experience with state-of-the-art methodologies in molecular biology such as PCR, cloning (RE-mediated, Gibson, LIC, SLIC), assembly of DNA libraries, in vitro selections, and working with RNA;
- o Ability to independently and proactively design key experiments to verify or falsify hypotheses;
- o Timely, independent, and exact working style and accurate documentation of results;
- o Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying technical information in a clear and thorough manner;
- o Confident, execution-focused, and team-oriented with an ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment.
