Director, International Legal

The position is responsible for providing a broad range of legal & compliance support to our business operations outside the United States, with a focus on data acquisition and stewardship, innovative uses of data analytics and artificial intelligence and collaborations with third parties operating in these areas. The position is also responsible for advising on key marketing initiatives and patient programs at a global/ex-US level, and will collaborate closely with regional/market legal & compliance teams as well as the US counterparts, to ensure global alignment and consistency in approach. The position will report to the VP of International Legal and Compliance.
Specific areas of responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Data acquisition and stewardship and related privacy issues, pharmaceutical regulatory issues, antitrust compliance
- Licensing and IP protection
- Support to Global Oncology team on ex-US initiatives, including, in particular, acting as the primary global legal & compliance reviewer and approval for ex-US companion diagnostic initiatives and related programs
- Ex-US commercial and access initiatives (e.g. digital health, global innovation and partnerships, patient programs, contracting) and regulatory issues
- Fraud, abuse and anti-bribery/anti-corruption issues
- Contract negotiation
- Supervising activities and managing relationships with outside counsel
**Education Minimum Requirement**:
- Holder of a _Juris Doctor_ or Bachelor of Laws degree from an accredited Law School; admission to the Bar of at least one (1) US State or an equivalent common law or civil law jurisdiction
**R**equired Experience and Skills**:
- Member in good standing of a Bar of at least one US state or an ex-US jurisdiction;
- At least 5 years of legal experience in a law firm or corporate setting, some of which must have been working in at least one of the following areas: (1) the pharmaceutical industry, (2) licensing of data or digital technologies, or (3) data security and management
**Preferred Experience and Skills**:
- Superior analytical skills and ability to assess potential risks that are not readily apparent
- Experience in managing a significant workload, with the ability to lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to be proactive, take initiative, and manage a portfolio of issues
- Sound judgement demonstrated by rapid and disciplined decision making and founded on strong ethical values
- Experience with business counseling is a plus
- Experience in advising ex-US clients in life sciences or U.S. commercial/regulatory experience in life sciences is a plus
