PhD position in organic geochemistry “Lipid biomarkers for methanotrophs”

**Would you like to work on the development of new tools and approaches to track past changes in biogeochemical processes?**

**We are seeking** a highly motivated and talented individual that is interested in completing a 4-year PhD position, and holds a relevant MSc degree (e.g. earth sciences, microbial ecology, or environmental sciences). You are broadly interested in and can imagine yourself working on a topic that spans organic geochemistry, microbiology, and limnology. You have gained first-hand independent research experience in (organic) geochemistry, microbial ecology, (analytical) chemistry, and/or a related field. You have previous experience with lipid extractions, mass-spectrometry, or other lab-based analytical methods. You are well-organized and methodical. You have demonstrated talent for academic writing and oral communication in English. You are equally excited about lab
- and fieldwork and data analysis. You enjoy collaborating with an interdisciplinary and international team of scientists to advance a common goal.

**We offer** a fully funded PhD position for 4 years with a salary at competitive Swiss rates.
