**Principal Data Scientist **(m/v/x)**

Janssen Pharmaceutica N.V. is recruiting a Principal Data Scientist. This position will be based in Beerse, Belgium. Other locations considered: United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, Italy and Switzerland.

Travel in Europe up to 20% may be required.

You will work closely together with colleagues across the different business functions and IT. Together with the business owners, you identify and validate opportunities for data science solutions. You're not scared of rolling your sleeves up and execute or assist with Proof-of-Concept studies and lead the scaling of conceptual solutions to enterprise capabilities. **Qualifications**

**Qualifications**:

- PhD degree in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Sciences, Statistics, Commercial Engineer or a related discipline with a minimum of 4 years of postdoc or industrial experience OR a Master’s degree with a minimum of 6 years of industry experience.
- Proven hands-on expertise through building and delivering solutions in one or more of the following areas: supervised or unsupervised machine learning, reinforcement learning, deep learning, natural language processing (NLP).
- You have experience with technical and organisational aspects of scaling data science solutions
- Proficiency with Python - in particular use of Pandas, Numpy, Scikit-learn, PyTorch, Tensorflow, pipeline frameworks
- Passion toward healthcare and strong understanding of technological landscape in big data is preferred.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, verbal, and written skills are required.
