Head Investments Compliance 80-100%

This is an outstanding opportunity to join Group Compliance in a management role that will ensure delivery on our strategic objectives of enabling, advising and providing assurance on how well Investment Management in Zurich Insurance manage their Compliance risks. This role will provide leadership to the Investments Compliance team which currently comprises of several Compliance Officers based at the Corporate Center and in the regions. The Investments Compliance team operates as a centralized coverage model (with strong regional collaboration), aligning with Investment Managements vertically integrated, global organization. This demanding position will report directly to the Head of Group Compliance Center of Excellence and offers the opportunity to define and shape the role as well as execute accountability.

**What you will do**

As **Head Investments Compliance** your main responsibilities will involve:

- Support Investment Management in identifying and managing Compliance risks in scope across all regional businesses and legal entities through a combination of remote and onsite interaction and pursuant to a risk-based annual Compliance plan
- Define and execute Investments Compliance operating model, which includes areas such as internal asset management, external asset management, sourcing, derivatives, asset eligibility, tied assets, securities lending & borrowing, real estate, alternative investments, and responsible investments
- Provide compliance enablement and advice in respect of all Compliance risks in scope with a focus on delivering value to the business
- As part of the Group Compliance Center of Excellence Leadership Team engage with peers to further the continued evolvement of Compliance advice and enablement
- Provide leadership and support to highly qualified Compliance Officers in the Investments Compliance team
- Ensure annual Compliance plan stays risk-based and relevant and deliver accordingly
- Ensure relevant and insightful reporting on Compliance topics to relevant stakeholders in the 1st and 2nd Line management
- Provide high-quality Compliance assurance pursuant to plan
- Continue to pro-actively work with the business in a way that supports them understanding their ownership, accountability and management of own Compliance risks
- Develop and share best practice around Investment Compliance risks
- Closely coordinate with other Group Functions to ensure appropriate coverage of Investment Management compliance topics by the Zurich’s overall control framework
- Independently manage cross functional and company-wide continuous improvement initiatives for the Investments Compliance area with a continued focus on ensuring the operating model works effectively and adds value to relevant stakeholders locally, regionally and at group level
- Work location is Zürich, Switzerland. Alternative locations within EMEA region could be considered

**What you bring**

As **Head Investments Compliance** your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

- 10 or more years of relevant experience in a compliance function ideally in asset management / banking / insurance industry and a multinational organization
- Outstanding experience in Investment Management related Compliance risks
- Experience in Financial Crime, Data Protection and Privacy, Outsourcing, Antitrust and Competition as well as Dealing in Securities is an additional asset
- Leadership experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to confidently present complex business and regulatory implication to all levels of management as well as Compliance colleagues clearly and concisely
- Proven analytical skills together with the ability to support decision making processes with sound reasoning
- Self-starter with the ability to work effectively, both independently and as part of a team
- Business acumen
- Excellent problem solving and influencing skills
- Self-motivation and a willingness to learn and develop new skills
- Fluent written and spoken English is essential
- Additional company languages (German or Spanish) would be an advantage
