**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Design and engineer protein constructs and perform all stages of cloning, recombinant protein expression (in prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells), purification, and analytical characterization.
- Screening, expression, purification, and characterization of selected binding proteins, either from in-house libraries or from external service providers.
- Evaluation, selection, and management of external service providers.
- Participation in multiple simultaneous cross-functional projects.
- Presentation of scientific data internally to team members, e.g., at project team meetings, and to upper management.
- Leading the establishment of SOPs for use of specialized equipment, such as chromatography systems, centrifuges, and analytical systems as required.
- Participation in day-to-day laboratory management and organization activities.
- Support of a culture of scientific excellence, continuous learning, and increasing the team's ability to engineer proteins.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- PhD in biochemistry, biotechnology, or related field with 1+ years’ experience in antibody or antibody fragment engineering and screening, expression, purification, and characterization. MSc with 5+ years’ industrial experience are also welcome to apply.
- Extensive experience in **antibody and binder engineering and screening**.
- Demonstrated experience with **protein expression** in mammalian and bacterial host cell systems.
- Hands-on experience with **protein purification** and associated techniques such as chromatography, filtration, and centrifugation.
- Strong understanding of analytical techniques and experience in protein / antibody characterization methods such as **SDS-PAGE, HPLC, ELISA, BLI, and DLS**.
- Experience with **adherent cell culture, functional assays, and flow cytometry**.
- Experience in antibody formatting and engineering is a plus.
- Design, setup, and regular use of protein libraries for selection of antibodies or antibody fragments is a plus.
- Proven track record in project management and delivery.
- Proficiency (e.g. C1 level) in both, written and spoken English.
- Must be independent, able to work in a fast-growing and highly diverse international team, and thrive in a “start-up” environment.
- Good computer skills required (MS Office, Apple hardware). Experience with electronic lab notebook (ELN), protein modelling, molecular biology, and data analysis software, or other laboratory software(s) is a plus.

**Salary**: CHF80,000.00 - CHF100,000.00 per year
