**About the Role**

You will contribute with your team to the SRI key priorities: UW excellence, Data-led UW and Underwriting of the future. You will ensure the delivery of risk insights, consistent performance metrics across the L&H businesses and forward-looking scenarios that leads to improved capital allocation, optimised risk pools selection and help position Swiss Re as an agile knowledge and commercial L&H leader.
In the role of Head L&H SRI and iptiQ CUO, your main activities include:

- Providing clear leadership within Swiss Re on strategic research topics such as forward looking modelling, risk accumulation, scenario and forecasting impact of global and local trends on L&H business
- Ensuring the delivery of R&D that leads to superior capita allocation, risk selection and value creation, and help position Swiss Re as thought leader
- Keeping a good mix of applied and basic research, with focus on tangible results and practical benefits for the L&H Business
- Leading a global team of talented researchers including behavioural economists, data scientists, actuaries, natural scientists and more, and provide a central focus for wider R&D activitites across L&H units at Swiss Re
- Providing UW oversight of the iptiQ L&H and P&C primary insurance businesses by being the port of call with the iptiQ CPO reporting to you for UW referrals decisions to the iptiQ CPO / CUO, designing the UW governance and risk appetite for iptiQ
- Developing together with the iptiQ costing community the UW performance monitroing, new products development, sustainable growth plan and UW strategy for new markets / LoB expansion
- Leading cross functional L&H initiatives to drive SRI UW priorities
- Providing guidance to portfolio steering and data analytics of large data sets
- Challenging business function leaders on their future market views and early warning systems
- Collaborating closely with the other teams in SRI, in particular the TLP team, and the L&H business leaders from L&H Re and iptiQ
- Presenting insights to senior internal stakeholders, and where relevant, at industry events

In addition, you will be a member of the SRI ET and represent iptiQ in Swiss Re Group and L&H UW committees as the iptiQ entity CUO. This team will play a central role in dealing with the L&H critical UW topics and initiatives across different units at Swiss Re.

**About the Team**

You will lead a team of approx. 20 international talents with presence in 5 offices around the world and a wide variety of cultural and professional background; you will also lead cross-functional project teams with colleagues in Swiss Re Institute, L&H Reinsurance, iptiQ and other areas of the wider organisation.

The global Life & Health SRI team provides unique insights into business performance, portfolio drivers and capital steering. We review and understand the main drivers of the L&H business performance across our key metrics, as well as the impact of Portfolio movements on Swiss Re's Capital and Solvency positions. We identify and analyse Swiss Re's own relevant data, as well as structured/unstructured datasets throughout the world that provide insights on trends and developments. The gained research insights establish the basis for the future prediction of health and mortality trends.

We provide thought leadership and client services within and outside Swiss Re on key research topics such as medical advances, consumer behaviours and ageing populations. We establish effective partnerships and collaborations with universities, data providers and research organisations on a global basis.
