The Material Planner/Operational Buyer for Drug Product consists of the management of the materials from set up in SAP to Purchase Order Placement to release for production. Responsible to coordinate the supply and ensure the accurate inventory levels of materials are maintained for any direct purchased item. Perform all duties to ensure the Materials Requirements Plans are completed to ensure the timely availability of materials to support the Product Supply Plan. These roles require execution of key tasks to support inventory plans and optimization initiatives.
Material Planner/Operational Buyer is accountable of the following results of direct materials to support the Drug Product business. This includes tasks to:
- Liaison with Supply Planner and Schedulers to ensure all material plans are up to date and responsive to changes in material requirements.
- Creation and maintenance of material numbers and detailed material planning parameters in SAP (PIR, SL, lead-times, and other MRP relevant settings).
- Conversion of the material requirements plan (purchase requisitions) into Purchase Orders.
- Expediting material availability through liaison with procurement and teams involved with inbound material processing.
- Execution of key material availability, mobilization or write-off actions to support optimal management of inventory while reducing scrap/waste.
- Liaise with key collaborators to develop safety stock and inventory plans to meet production plans.
- Track, report and facilitate on-time material availability including testing and release for production.
- Creation and management of material related important metrics and measures to ensure accurate understanding of material availability
- Support the implementation of supplier changes and other initiatives led by Central Category managers and Site Strategic Buyers.
- Collaborate with the broader procurement team to ensure all relevant material & vendor master data and outline agreements are available in SAP and are up to date.
- Manage all Level 2 vendor critical issues (e.g.: vendor returns, expediting deliveries, PO confirmations, shipping issues and others)
- Manage account payable (AP) Inquiries (Invoice issues, etc..)
- Support internal cross-functional collaborators to onboard and approve new raw materials and suppliers
**Key requirements**:
- Degree in SCM, Procurement or any relevant field
- Level in Supply Chain, Materials Planning/Scheduling and/or purchasing: Advanced - 5-10 years
- Purchasing, inventory, analytical and distribution management skills
- Experience in GMP environment preferred but not a must
- Ability to use SAP and MS office programs
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Fluency in German and English is required
- Strong Teammate and able to work across cross-functional teams
