The challenge:
As a Laboratory Technician, you will be part of the Application and Innovation Community, and you will be working across multiple Business Units.

The position:

- As part of a team, executes experimental work to support multiple research goals and business functions including product development, discovery research, process improvements, stability evaluation, product characterization and competitive intelligence, while respecting DSM Quality and SHE requirements and other relevant standards.
- In collaboration with senior colleagues, stakeholders and project management, plans, performs and reports laboratory experiments designed to meet established project goals.
- Organize the laboratory activities including interfaces to other departments within and beyond innovation/R&D, e.g. OPS, marketing.
- Maintains instrumentation, notebooks, records and data management as needed for respective discipline as well as ensuring a clean, organized and efficient laboratory environment.
- Complies actively to HACCP food-grade production requirements when producing food for consumption, attends trainings and proactively approaches responsible people when observing non-compliant behavior.
- Knowledge holder of at least one key expertise (eg: Dietary supplements, vitamins, probiotics, fibers)

The Ideal:

- Apprenticeship as Lab Technician with experience in Chemistry, food technology, bioscience engineering or similar discipline
- Bachelor degree with experience
- Knowhow and skills within field of scientific experimentation or technology
- Previous experience working in a laboratory, in either an R&D or QC environment is preferred
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment
- Track record of successful protocol development, lab organization or similar
- Flexible, open-minded and cooperative personality
- Experience in at least one of the following area is a strong asset: extrusion, spray drying, tableting, gummies, powder characterization
- Fluent in English, any other language is an asset
