The Role
As part of the company’s unprecedented growth and expansion, Moderna is taking an important step in the evolution of the organization in building a world-class, international Moderna Enterprise Solutions Hub (MESH) center based in Warsaw, Poland. MESH will house talent in Finance, Pharmacovigilance, HR, Digital, Compliance among many other functions as it builds a foundation for shared services, internationally.

The Associate Director, Revenue and Accounts Receivable - International will report to the Senior Director, International Controller and will play a key role in driving the establishment of a strong and effective Revenue and Accounts Receivable process for Moderna’s international operations, as well as a high quality, accurate and efficient monthly and quarterly close that enables Moderna to meet its external filing timelines. This position will also be instrumental in driving effective SOX internal controls in the Revenue and Accounts Receivable area for the international operations. In addition, this role will be expected to represent order-to-cash and broader finance in all cross-functional projects to stand up the infrastructure to support our future commercial needs.

A key goal for the Associate Director, Revenue and Accounts Receivable - International, will be to continuously improve the AR processes for the region and drive a solid revenue financial close and reporting. This position will also collaborate with stakeholders across Moderna on our financial policies and processes. This role will partner with the US Accounting team, the financial systems teams, FP&A, other functional teams and external customers to ensure adequate touch points, and to identify and provide solutions for process challenges.

**Here’s What You’ll Do**:
**On Operational Excellence**:
Act as the order-to-cash lead for all international activities related to that process.

Lead cross functional processes to ensure all end-to-end requirements are meant prior to go live activities.

Establish an efficient and effective Order to Cash process in the international markets to sell to private customers (Wholesalers, GPOs, HCPs, etc.)

Ensure implementation of Revenue Management system for pricing, tender management, rebates, chargebacks, contractual allowances, etc.

Ensure implementation of 3PL reporting into Moderna ERP systems

Drive strong invoicing, AR and Revenue processes in the region

Drive automation across all OTC workstreams

Ensure compliant invoicing according to VAT and other Tax rules and regulations

Support external customer inquiries, including telephone support

Ensure timely monthly and quarterly revenue close

Prepare monthly journal entries, account reconciliations and variance analysis

Support the external financial audits and the SOX 404 audits

Ensure SOX controls are properly performed and adequately supported

Provide accounting services within the agreed service level parameters and conduct root cause analysis for service level breaches

**On People and Stakeholder Management**:
Develop and lead all International Order-to-Cash employees and contribute to their individual career development and growth aspirations

Continuously collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders in the Order to Cash process

Establish and maintain strong business partnerships with key counterparts including the US Finance team, International Compliance and Supply chain teams, FP&A, Digital, Program Managers and functional business owners

**Here’s What You’ll Bring To The Table**:
Bachelor's degree in accounting required; MBA preferred

CPA and Big 4 public accounting firm experience or a similar role in a public company preferred

10+ years of public accounting or combined public accounting and industry experience; biotechnology/pharmaceutical Industry experience is a plus

Strong knowledge of invoicing requirements in various countries outside of US, including VAT and other indirect tax rules and regulations; ability to deal with complex billing/revenue arrangements (pre-payments, FX, intercompany)

Strong knowledge of international private market pharmaceutical sales via Wholesale Distributors, GPOs, HCPs, etc.

Strong knowledge of international tender management process

Strong knowledge of Gross to Net Revenue such as chargebacks, rebates, contractual allowances, etc.

Ability to build OTC processes related to private market sales including revenue management implementation
