**Research Scientist, Mobile Vision AI (PhD) Responsibilities**:

- Lead research to advance the science and technology of computer vision algorithms in areas such as generative methods, deep learning model optimization, semantic understanding, 3D geometry understanding, human understanding, and more.
- Work towards long-term ambitious research goals, while identifying intermediate milestones.
- Collaborate with other researchers and engineers across teams at Meta to develop experiments, prototypes, and concepts that advance the state of the art in AR/VR systems.

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- Currently has or is in the process of obtaining a PhD degree in the field of Computer Science relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
- Understanding of Machine Learning concepts such as few shot learning, domain adaptation and depth estimation, Neural Architecture Search.
- Experience working with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- 3+ years of experience with Python and/or C++ programming languages.
- Experience in developing interactive solutions for computer vision, natural language processing, or computer graphics.
- Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Currently has or is in the process of obtaining a PhD degree in the field of Computer Science relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
- Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by grants, fellowships, patents, as well as first-authored publications at leading workshops or conferences such as CVPR, NIPS, ECCV, ICCV, ICLR.
- Experience with Machine Learning Principles such as Deep Learning, Computer Vision.
- Demonstrated software engineer experience via an internship, work experience, coding competitions, or widely used contributions in open source repositories (e.g. GitHub).
- Experience designing data collection protocols and quality control.
