The challenge:
As a Global Category Manager, you will be part of the Procurement team within the HNC Business Group. You will lead cross-functional teams in developing and implementing global sourcing strategy and ensure the overall optimization of Procurement processes.

The position:

- Contribute actively to Business Procurement Plan and the global Direct Procurement targets by identifying, developing, and implementing global Saving opportunities and cost mitigation initiatives.
- Develop and manage relationship with strategic supplier and track their performance
- Prepare and lead fact-based negotiation and select strategic supplier (Supplier Segmentation)
- Manage relationship with strategic suppliers
- Continuously track supplier performance of strategic suppliers according to the guidelines of the supplier evaluation and audit policies.
- Lead strategic supplier development activities; set up cross-functional review meetings with strategic suppliers in order to improve performance and further reduce costs
- Participate in strategic supplier audits
- Identify potential contract improvements opportunities
- Anticipate market/price trends and translation of these findings into appropriate forward purchase behavior
- Support the regional/local premix buyers and be accountable for cross-functional team management within the spend area responsibility.
- Monitor the strategy implementation of the assigned lead purchasing products / companies
- Ensure sourcing strategies are implemented
- Responsible for breaking down organizational barriers and communicating overall sourcing within the sped area
- Ensure strong network within the organization to allow for the successful sourcing strategy development and implementation through close engagement of business users
- Oversee the development and execution of Category Management Strategy to select key suppliers for the specific spend area. Manage collaboration for knowledge sharing and proper communication with Regional Buyers, within the spend area by providing strategy and deep spend area expertise.

The Ideal:

- University or higher level of education in Procurement, Marketing & Sales, Product Management or Business Administration
- Knowledge and understanding of procurement processes
- Excellent knowledge of negotiation skills and contracting tools
- Very good understanding of business strategies on future market developments
- Exceptional communication skills to orchestrate multifunctional resources
- Strongly self-motivated; solves business problems and works well with limited supervision
- Able to perform in a fast-paced work environment where constant re-prioritization is required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Fluent in English, any other language is an asset
