**Purpose**
- Contract Management
- Negotiation of contracts / Support of contract negotiations
- Maintenance and update of contracts and templates
- Legal support for other departments

**Areas of responsibility**

***Agreement **Negotiation**
- Independent contract preparation
- Identification of risks and preparation of possible solutions
- Coordination with the GrL CM and other internal stakeholders from BD&Sales, QA, Purchasing and other departments as required.
- Negotiation of contracts with external stakeholders
- Provide support in contract negotiations as required
- Monitoring the current negotiation status of contracts and independent follow-up with internal and external stakeholders
- Information of all relevant stakeholders upon contract finalization
- Monitoring of notice periods and coordination with internal stakeholders to decide on the next steps
- Compilation and distribution of contract summaries
- Initiation & negotiation of updates/amendments of existing contracts.
- Organization and tracking of contract signatures, creation and maintenance of contract templates.

**Contract Management and** **Templates**
- Provide ideas and support for maintenance and improvement of Bachem contract templates
- Adaptation of templates and creation of new ones as required
- Use and update of contract databases in accordance with internal guidelines
- Filing of contracts (electronic and paper filing)
- Provide updates on the status of contract negotiations on a regular basis (report compilation)

**Project collaboration**
- Participation in selected projects (e.g. creation of new contract templates)

**Other tasks and responsibilities**:

- Representation of the company externally during contract negotiations and customer meetings
- Implementation of internal trainings
- Support in the evaluation of other legal matters as necessary (e.g. for other internal departments such as HR or Purchasing)
- Occasional travel for negotiation of contracts with customers or seminars.

**Leadership tasks**
- Project management within a matrix organization

**Basic requirements**

**Education and Training**
- Master’s degree in law / Life Sciences with sound training in contract negotiating
- Paramount is a thorough knowledge in law and contract writing and sufficient scientific background (to understand Bachem's products and services)
- Knowledge of contract law in the pharmaceutical environment desired

**Professional, management or project experience**
- At least 2 years’ professional experience in contract management is a plus
- Prior experience working in the industry of life sciences, chemistry, bio sciences or pharmaceutical is a plus
- Very good presentation and communication skills
- Experience in working within a matrix organization is a plus
- Experience in project management
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

**Languages / IT Experience**
- Excellent proficiency in English (min. C-2 level) is mandatory
- German Language C1
- Knowledgeable with Sales Force, DocuSign, CLM or Ariba is valued
- Experience with webinar tools such as Zoom, MS Teams or similar tools is valued
