Global Underwriting Manager

Zurich is continuing it’s focus on Cyber lines of business and a unique opportunity has developed to join the Global function as the Cyber Head. Our Cyber business has seen positive growth and you’ll take over and drive growth of a business line where Zurich is currently well positioned and placed in the top 10 - 12 markets on a global basis

**What you will do**
- Lead the evolution of, and execution/implementation of, the cyber underwriting strategy for the group
- Develop and grow the team of Cyber Underwriters located globally, and support their continued development with training and mentoring
- Manage the selection of new and renewal Cyber business
- Underwrite and analyze business within the authority level
- Bring specialised cyber underwriting and/or technical cyber-security experience and ensure best in class standards
- Recommend and implement action plans after quality assurance reviews of books of business and market trends
- Work closely with the Risk Engineering team to complement the underwriting activities with technical foundations
- Collaborate with the Group Risk Management function to monitor and track the group cyber accumulation position, and evolve our group cyber appetite
- Develop and strengthen relationships with brokers, agents and support new business opportunities
- Lead implementation of complex projects, as part of major initiative or business improvement which impact underwriting
- Oversee design, improvement and implementation of rating tools and methodologies and tools to deliver value to customers whilst being commercially viable
- Continue to develop Zurich’s book of business as best in class and position it for future success
- Due to time zones, work location must be close to Zurich offices in UK, Switzerland, Germany with hybrid options

**What you bring**
- Bachelors degree of equivalent and 10+ years of relevant experience
- Strong cyber underwriting track record, and/or cyber-security experience
- Global outlook with ideally experience of working across multiple countries
- High level of technical detail combined with a collaborative but effective leadership style
- A competence in communication and thought leadership in the area of cyber risk
- Excellence in portfolio management, underwriting knowledge, latest cyber trends
