**Technical Purchaser (Temporary contract of 1 year)**
**Job Summary**:
Assist Purchasing supervisor in a range of activities associated with purchasing goods, materials, supplies, and services on terms that are in the organization’s best interest.
On his own, updates material planning system and coordinates approval and control of purchasing activities. Manage the supplier quality issues.
**Principal Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Enters data into databases or other computerized systems to maintain up-to-date supplier and vendor information; to track purchase and the status of orders and deliveries; and to generate purchasing reports and statistics;
- Conducts research on potential suppliers and vendors; promotions and other industry trends as a source of accurate and up-to-date information for purchasing activities;
- Establishes a planning to visit suppliers and vendors regularly. Ensure interface relation between the supplier and the Zimmer Biomet Quality / Product Development team;
- Monitors the quality and timeless of materials and goods supplied; follows-up the status of purchase orders with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery; and communicate status of orders with internal customers;
- Establishes and maintains suppliers and vendors contracts and agreements;
- Ensures interfaces with accounting department for payment of invoices
**Expected Areas of Competence**:
- Software packages particularly MS Office, SAP;
- Aware of transportation and customs requirements and issues, aware of required administrative follow-up;
- Good technical expertise.
- Global knowledge of the company and the products.
- Ability to communicate in English both orally and in written form in a clear and concise manner.
- The ability to build and maintain strong relationships with all contacts, at all levels, both internal and external, locally and internationally
- Curious and willing to find technical alternative solution for the supply of goods for cost saving
- Self-motivated, mature, positive and enthusiastic achiever, able to work unsupervised
- High levels of self-discipline and time management
**Education/Experience Requirements**:
- University Degree or business school
- 2 to 4 years of purchasing experience required or experience in similar position.
**Travel Requirements**:
Up to 20 %
