**Presentation**:
We are pleased to announce a fully funded PhD position focusing on the study of Archean microbialites. This is an exceptional opportunity to explore some of the earliest evidence of life on Earth. The position is funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation as part of a research project led by Professor Marin Carbonne.
**Job information**:
Expected start date in position : 01.01.2026 or upon mutual agreement
Contract length : 1 x 2 x 1 years (maximum 4 years)
Activity rate : 100 %
Workplace : Institute of Earth Sciences, University of Lausanne
**Your responsibilities**:
The advertised position is to join the microbialite and SIMS research group led by Professor Marin Carbonne.
20 % will involve teaching assistance, supervising master's students and helping in the laboratory.
**Your qualifications**:
- Master's degree in Geochemistry, Geology, Earth Sciences, or related field;
- Strong background in geochemistry, sedimentology, or geobiology;
- Experience with microscopy, isotope and geochemical analysis preferred;
- Commitment to research based on experiental approaches.
