Global Science Lead Enzyme Therapeutics

This position can also be based in UK or US **Position summary**: Reporting to the Global Head of Strategic Research Collaborations, you will be responsible for research and preclinical/non-clinical studies conducted on behalf of NHSc with external partners and/or Contract Research Organizations (CROs). **A day in the life of a Global Science Lead Allergy Therapeutics**: - Design and oversee IND- and CTA- enabling preclinical programs: including target identification and validation, relevant disease models for preclinical proof-of concept, PK/PD and dose range finding studies, safety, and drug non-clinical developments, such as CMC to proceed to IND and enable phase 1 human studies - Initiate advance key development programs, including preclinical study planning and budgeting, execution oversight and reporting to steering committee(s) - Secure the differentiation of early & mid stage compounds including identification of new indications and successful generation of new IP - Target identification and engagement markers - Design proof of concept studies in relevant animal disease models - Conduct scientific and technical review for nonclinical studies performed with external collaborators or CROs. - Review and finalize nonclinical study reports (both non-GLP and GLP studies). - Together pharmacology/toxicology and regulatory project lead engage with regulatory agencies to resolve nonclinical issues - Implementation of scientific discoveries, breakthrough technology platforms, as well as early to mid-terms target assets in the allergy and immune-related gastro-intestinal (GI) therapeutics (aligned with NHSc Rx strategy and product portfolio)" - Act as Preclinical Development representative on project teams and/or sub teams for clinical development of novel allergy/immunology therapeutics (Rx) ***What will make you successful**: - Ph.D. or MD/Ph.D in Biochemistry or Pharmacology with specialization in Protein chemistry/Enzymology (enzyme expert) - Experience in drug discovery and PK/PD assessment and modeling. - Early drug development experience, with minimum 5 to 8 years working in biotech/pharma companies - Experience in coordination, organization, analysis, and documentation of nonclinical studies - Experience in gastro-intestinal and metabolism related diseases where dysfunctional enzymes play a key role in driving pathology - Experience managing research programs involving external partners. - Exposure to business development / acquisition a plus Nestlé Health Science is a leader in the science of nutrition, offering an extensive portfolio of science-based consumer health, medical nutrition, pharmaceutical therapies, and vitamin and supplement brands.
