Lead, Investment Policy and Practice

(temporary contract, 3 months with likelihood of extension to June 2026)

Reporting lines, interactions, and timeframe

The Lead, Investment Policy and Practice, will report to the Head of Investment and Services. The Lead will also work closely with the Forum’s broader Trade and Investment team as well as colleagues throughout the Centre for Regions, Trade and Geopolitics and the wider World Economic Forum.

The position is initially for 3 months, renewable to 30 June 2026 or more, dependent on funding and project needs.

Key responsibilities- Project management_: Manage investment-related project activities, under the Digital FDI Initiative (with projects in Pakistan, Rwanda, Oman, and Cyprus). Responsibilities include developing and validating investment reforms, coordinating public-private working groups and external consultants, and ensuring completion of all agreed deliverables.- Funding management_: Maintain excellent relations with existing donors providing direct funding to the World Economic Forum, as well as comply with all donor requirements.- Knowledge development_: Capture investment-related ideas, insights and good practices through knowledge products, including through papers, reports, and agenda articles, with a view to advancing broader awareness of investment activities and insights.- Community management_: Help manage the Forum’s community related to investment policy and practice to help improve investment climates, including through developing and delivering relevant engagement opportunities for constituents, as well as identifying and building relationships with new constituents.- Investment-related business engagement_: Ensure that businesses engaged with the Forum have rich, relevant, and regular engagement opportunities related to investment policy and practice, including through developing and delivering sessions at Forum events and collaborating with other organizations on creating opportunities; at the same time, identify additional businesses with an interest on investment climate issues and engage them with a view to developing relationships.

Key skills- Ability to manage a budget, external consultants, donor relationships and collaboration with other organizations in multi country work with mínimal supervision, setting and achieving milestones and deliverables.- Ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders in helping deliver an economic reform agenda, including private and public sector representatives - client-facing comfort and skills a must.- Strong strategic planning and organisation skills and ability to adjust deliverables to evolving needs.- Excellent written and oral communications skills to shape content for different audiences.- Team player, hardworking, entrepreneurial, creative, diplomatic, and solutions oriented.

Preferred requirements- 6+ years working on investment policy or services trade, including analysis, policy recommendations, and supporting reform agendas.- Project management experience working at the national or regional level in emerging and developing markets.- Master’s degree in business, economics, law, development, public administration, public policy, international development, or equivalent.- Interest to work in fast-paced, multi-national, dynamic environment.- Experience in international organizations and national government is a plus.- Experience in the private sector is a plus.- Publication record in investment and services area is a plus.- English fluency.
