**Global Product Manager - Traction System Mining & Refit (80-100%)**:

The global transition from fossil fuel to renewable energies requires a high level of innovation for electric propulsion systems, particularly in the fast-growing mining market, while in parallel existing traction equipment must be retrofitted to maximize lifetime and to become more efficient. We are further strengthening our global product management team and looking for an experienced specialist in electric traction systems. As the Global Product Manager, you will be accountable for the long-term profitable growth and marketing activities of ABB Traction division’s mining traction system and retrofit business and further develop as well as manage the product portfolio through its entire lifecycle. A very good understanding of the core technology together with domain and market know-how are essential to be successful in this role and to leverage the full potential of the product to successfully meet customer needs.

**This position reports to**:
Product Manager

**Your responsibilities**:

- Product responsible for large mining and rail retrofit propulsion, ensuring a competitive product portfolio, meeting the global market requirements
- Drive innovation based on strong technical skills in electric propulsion systems
- Market and Competition analysis (includes market benchmarking)
- Define requirement specifications: Market & Product requirement specifications
- Ensure and continually improve Quality & Cost & Competitiveness including product life cycle / transition management and new product launches
- Responsible for technical sales of dedicated Traction and Mining Retrofit Projects, including workout technical proposals/offers and present to customer, start up the sold projects within the R&D and Engineering Team and secure a successful outcome.
- Provide MARCOM for the dedicated products (Presentations, benefits and selling arguments tuned to local aspects)

**Your background**:

- Electrical Power Engineer, focus power electronics, Technical University
- 8 years Industrial Experience in power electronics for Railways or Drives and 5 years in a senior technical role in designing/developing
- Strong capability of designing/developing new electric propulsion systems for railway or mining with proven track record
- Strong interest in Markets and Customer as well as willingness to travel up to 10-25%
- Strong written and spoken communication skills (English a must, German proficiency preferred other languages an asset)
- Proactive and open (engagement, commitment, responsibility)
- Strong personality / Good social competence
