The Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH) is a world-leading institute in global health with a particular focus on low
- and middle-income countries. Associated with the University of Basel, Swiss TPH combines research, education and services at local, national and international levels. 900 people from 80 nations work at Swiss TPH focusing on infectious and non-communicable diseases, environment, society and health as well as health systems and interventions.

Swiss TPH hosts the Editorial Office of the International Journal of Public Health and Public Health Reviews. These not-for-profit peer reviewed scientific journals publish high-quality research from across the globe. The Editorial Office coordinates the operational and strategic work necessary to produce the journals. We support authors, editors, reviewers, the publisher, and the owner: the Swiss School of Public Health.

We are currently seeking a committed, organized and thorough: Editorial Assistant (40-50%).

This position is a unique opportunity to join a global team of editors and authors, and to collaborate locally with the Managing Editor in a stimulating environment. The key function of this post is to provide administrative support to the Managing Editor.

**Your position**
- Journal administration (tracking, filing, tabulating etc.)
- Making contributions to improve processes
- Corresponding with authors, editors, the publisher, and others
- Coordinating and supporting meetings
- Checking and formatting documents
- Supporting the organization of Calls for Papers

**Your profile**
- Commercial education and/or bachelor's degree
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken, with strong communication skills
- Familiarity with Office programs (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and the ability to work with databases and online platforms
- Independent, flexible and proactive work style, with a strong eye for detail
- Ability to work on several tasks and projects simultaneously, and to implement innovative administrative processes
- Experience of working at an academic institution and an interest in the scientific publishing area would be strong assets
