For accelerator modelling we are looking for a
Postdoctoral Fellow
Your tasks
During this fully funded two-year postdoctoral you will lead OPAL's future development into a performance portable accelerator modelling framework targeting exascale hardware architectures. This will be done closely with the 12 developers that maintain and further develop this open source framework. You will be also involved in the design of numerical linear algebra methods. You will take part in simulation campaigns to address the modelling challenges associated with existing and next generation particle accelerators.
**Profile**:
PhD degree in physics, numerical mathematics or a similar domain
Strong numerical and computational physics background
Expert-level knowledge of numerical methods for elliptic and hyperbolic PDEs
Knowledge of particle in cell methods is an asset
Knowledge of Kokkos or a similar performance portable framework is an asset
Fluency in English; additional German language skills are beneficial
