As a Category Buyer, you will play a vital role in the procurement team for indirect material and services in our Supply Chain and Value Excellence organization, based in Baden, Switzerland. You will engage in operational procurement tasks, including managing suppliers and conducting purchasing activities, with a focus on business stakeholder management. You will be reporting to the Global Category Manager of Indirect Materials and Services.

**Responsibilities**:

- Purchase materials according to required technical specifications, prices, delivery schedules, and terms. Ensure purchasing activities align with corporate purchasing policies and procedures.
- Initiate purchase orders (PO) in the system, according to the Purchase Requisitions and in alignment with standard procedures, and confirms the delivery with suppliers, monitor and track supplier performance to purchase order requirements.
- Develop, plan and implement procurement strategies focused on optimizing costs, quality, delivery, and reliability of suppliers and supply services for an assigned category or group of categories.
- Identify new suppliers in cooperation with the relevant category team.
- Help negotiates agreements with main suppliers, and periodically renew prices, terms, and conditions. Provides ongoing oversight and contract management with suppliers.
- Oversee supplier performance (on-time delivery, quality, lead time), and resolves performance issues.

Your background
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of procurement systems, processes, and practices.
- Ability to communicate and influence effectively across all levels.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Experience in change management and project management.
- Experience in CAPEX, projects, investments, transport, and logistics.
- Knowledge of SAP or other ERP system.
- Fluency in English and German.
