Our Opening and Your Responsibilities
- As part of Global Supply Chain Management, Global Indirect Procurement is responsible for the strategic category and supplier management of all indirect categories. Under consideration of innovation, cost, quality and availability we strive to develop procurement to a competitive advantage for METTLER TOLEDO. To complete the team we are looking for a highly motivated and skilled professional to proceed its career in the Zürich area, Switzerland as a Global Category Manager Logistics 100% (f/m/d).

The following responsibilities will be assigned to you in this role:

- You will develop and execute global and regional category strategies as well as lead competitive bids, sourcing initiatives and contract negotiations
- Further, you will manage multi-unit, cross-functional projects that bring tangible benefits and support implementations
- You will consolidate spend through frame agreements with preferred suppliers and achieve improved quality standards, cost, delivery times and contractual terms and conditions
- Meet cost reduction targets and increase Global Indirect Procurement's reach in Europe and globally while assuring sustainability and performance of the supplier base
- Furthermore you will effectively perform supplier management by leading supplier performance reviews and by holding collaborative sessions with suppliers (including senior management) in alignment with internal stakeholders
- Additionally you will improve the quality of the supply chain by means of proactively exercising influence and monitoring
- Last but not least you will drive change within the team and with stakeholders as needed for initiatives through demonstrating strong leadership

What You Need to Succeed
- Following requirements are necessary for this role:

- You have a bachelor or master degree with a major/specialization/concentration in Procurement, Sourcing, Supply Chain or Logistics, MBA is a plus
- 7-10 years working experience in supply chain roles with knowledge of indirect sourcing and strong experience in logistics services procurement (e.g. transportation, warehousing) is required
- An absolute must is a solid global market know-how of different areas within the transportation and logistics category
- You are experienced in negotiation with global suppliers combined with strong contracting skills and experienced in driving ahead international projects
- Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to collaborate with global team members, stakeholders, and suppliers at multiple levels and varying cultures are requested
- You are proactive, self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset combined with solid financial acumen, SAP knowledge is an asset
- Excellent English written and oral communication skills are required. German/Chinese language skills are a plus. Global travel requirement of approx. 10-15%
