You will join the Accelerator Systems Department (SY), which is responsible for the beam-related technical systems of the CERN accelerators. The SY teams design, build and operate equipment systems in all CERN accelerators, and are engaged in ambitious forward-looking R&D programmes. The position will be in the Beam Position Measurement Section of the Beam Instrumentation Group.

As an electronics technician, you will:

- Participate in the test and measurement of tunnel and surface based modules in the various CERN accelerators including the large hadron collider (LHC);
- Design test benches comprising laboratory instrumentation and custom electronics;
- Design and layout printed circuit boards;
- Use advanced instruments such as high-end oscilloscopes, VNAs, logic analysers;
- Develop python scripts for the control of laboratory instruments and test benches.

**Qualifications**
Higher technical diploma or equivalent relevant experience in the field of electronics or a related field.

**Experience**:
Required experience with:

- Hands-on experience in soldering of SMD components;
- Hands-on experience with the use of laboratory instruments such as oscilloscopes, multimeters and power supplies;
- Reading electronic schematics;
- Fault identification in electronic circuits.

Desired experience with:

- Knowledge of CAD software such as Altium or KiCad;
- Knowledge of Python;

- Testing and measurement of analog and digital electronic circuits;
- Design and simulation of analog and digital electronic circuits;
- Layout of electronic circuit boards;
- Design and development of systems based on standardized modules;
