Global Sales Manager, Business Line Marine Systems
**Your role and responsibilities**:
We are looking for a driven and experienced Global Segment Sales Manager to take ownership of global sales performance for Cargo Vessels. In this role, you will shape and execute our global sales strategy for the newbuilds, identifying growth opportunities and building strong customer partnerships. You’ll also work closely with cross-functional teams to drive commercial success across the full product lifecycle. This is a strategic and high-impact role for someone who combines technical knowledge with commercial acumen. The best person for this position is confident in making decisions, thrives in a global environment, and is passionate about driving innovation and growth in the maritime industry. This position is located preferably in one of our biggest locations: Helsinki, Oslo, Miami, Houston, Rotterdam, Singapore. The work model for the role is hybrid: #LI-hybrid This role is contributing to ABB's Division Marine & Ports. You will be mainly accountable for: - Identifying new business opportunities in the cargo vessel segment and creating clear strategies to convert them into business opportunities. - Setting and driving key sales targets, implementing performance metrics to track results. - Engaging with current and potential clients globally, nurturing long-term relationships. - Supporting and coaching local sales organizations to meet business milestones and grow capabilities. - Collaborating with Service Sales and Product Management teams to ensure a holistic approach to product lifecycle management. - Gathering and sharing market intelligence and sales forecasts to support strategic decision-making. - Leading contract risk assessments and coordinating mitigation actions with internal stakeholders. - Leading the Cargo segment team including the Global Vessel type managers.
**Qualifications for the role**:
- Proven track record in global or regional sales, preferably within maritime sector.
- Well-established networks in the maritime industry are considered a benefit.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, marketing, engineering, or a related field.
- Analytical mindset with a strategic and structured approach to sales execution.
- Excellent leadership and coaching skills; ability to drive results through influencing.
- Self-driven with a positive and collaborative attitude.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills in an international context.
