**Research Scientist (Protein Sciences)**:

We are seeking a passionate, curious, and collaborative protein scientist with demonstrated experience in expression optimization and characterization of challenging proteins or who is a fast learner and self-motivated to acquire new scientific skills. You will carry out the exciting task of studying disease-relevant protein target(s).
This role will work directly with the Protein Sciences team and reports to the Senior Principal Scientist.
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Understanding the concept of protein expression in eukaryotic hosts, implementing experimental steps and existing lab techniques to execute experiments and interpret data.
- Working collaboratively across lab with all members.
- Using understanding of experimental hypothesis and working with manager and colleagues to troubleshoot issues and help design and execute next experiments.
- Being a key contact person in supporting protein expression for different project activities.

**Role Requirements**

**Essential Requirements**:

- Basic understanding of theoretical and technical principals of protein expression in eukaryotic hosts.
- Training in cell culture with second and third year spent in a microbiology, biochemistry, or biology lab (Apprenticeship) or Bachelors or MS degree in microbiology, biochemistry or biotechnology.
- Fluency in English (both written and oral).
- Hands on experience using eukaryotic hosts (HEK or Insect cells or other cell lines) to study protein expression.

**Desirable Requirements**:

- Experience in cell line development.
- Lab management experience in expression, purification, and characterization of protein.
- Interest in technology innovation and implementation.
