Laboratory Technician

We are based in Schlieren (Zürich) and looking for a strong team player with high social competence and positive attitude who wants to join our dynamic team as a _Laboratory Technician (m,f,d)_

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES:

- Front end sample registration, preparation, routine lysing, preparation and dissection of agricultural samples, and cleaning of DNA
- Completion of daily sample registration and reconciliation of same with electronic data
- Prepare buffers, materials as required for analytical procedures
- General housekeeping and scanning of sample
- Routine processing of test samples and associated electronic information
- Dissection of agricultural and food samples
- Preparation of macroscopic tissue samples and microscopic single cell samples
- Lysing DNA samples and quality checks
- Complete quality and sample tracking records
- Dilution with liquid handler and purification of DNA

QUALIFICATIONS:

- This is an entry level position for someone who was successfully finished the education (Lehre) as a Laboratory Technician or equivalent
- Fluent in English (spoken and written), German skills would be of advantage
- Exceptional attention to detail is required
- Experience in using mulit-channel pipettes
- Experience in sample preparation under the binocular microscope would be preferred
- Experience in DNA clean up would be of advantage
- Previous experience in an ISO accredited laboratory
- Strong MS office skills and experience of LIMS systems
- Familiarity with a manufacturing or production line environment would be of advantage
