We are now opening a new Data Science Expert position and are looking forward for you to join our passionate PAT team in Bern, Switzerland.

In your interesting new role you will work at the interface of method development, process optimization and full scale operations. You will establish concepts to effectively use large spectroscopic data sets in accordance with PAT requirements. You will contribute to the evaluation of new analytical tools, drive improvement projects from development to implementation, and accompany established PAT methods during their life cycle. In addition, you will partner closely with local and global stakeholders, such as Value Streams, Operational Analytics, R&D and Engineering site teams.

**As a Data Science Expert - Process Analytical Technology, you will**:

- Establish and maintain state-of-the-art automation workflows for real-time data processing.
- Analyse and interpret PAT data from development, Pilot Plant, and full scale manufacture, with a focus on chemometrics and multivariate modeling of spectral data.
- Maintain PAT methods during their life cycle to ensure functionality in routine operations in alignment with quality and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to development of innovative real-time analytical tools to advance process control and robustness.
- Support site transfer and implementation of real-time (at-/on-/in-line) PAT methods for CSL Behring manufacturing processes and expansion projects.
- Act as bridge between PAT and the data science teams within global CSL.

**Your educational background and experience**
- MSc or PhD in bioinformatics, biotechnology, chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field.
- Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
- Proven experience in developing analytical methods and handling large data sets, ideally within a biotech, pharma or food industrial setting.
- Experience in NIR spectroscopy or other spectroscopic techniques, multivariate modeling and statistics.
- Working knowledge of computing languages such as Python.
- Fluent in English
