Associate Director, Scientific Communication

General Description:
The Director Digital Medical Affairs Europe will be responsible for the successful development and implementation of regional scientific communications strategies, publications plans and medical education initiatives in alignment with Beigene’s brand and corporate strategies. The Associate Director Scientific Communication is part of the BeiGene’s European HQ team and will report to the Executive Director Medical Affairs Europe. Project delivery is expected across the portfolio including Hemato-Oncology as well as Solid Tumors / IO.

Essential Functions of the job:

- Lead and coordinate Medical and Scientific Communication, support development of regional publication plan, ensuring its implementation in Medical Affairs Europe in alignment with the global publication strategy, coordination of the Medical Review Committee Europe for scientific/non-promotional materials
- Support development and implementation of medical strategies / plans for responsible products, create strategic alignment with global strategy and local business needs
- Establishing strong working relationships with key external stakeholders (e.g. consultants, KOLs, health care professional societies, patient advocacy groups) and managing key medical affairs-initiated meetings, e.g., medical advisory board meetings, investigator meetings, national/regional scientific events.
- Participate in the planning, development and implementation of the medical educational plan, congress plan and other scientific programs that communicate important information to the medical and scientific community.
- Collaborate with country Medical Directors to contribute to strategy and execution of advisory boards
- Manage the creation and internal/external dissemination of scientific communication assets such as manuscripts, abstracts, posters, slide decks, and videos.
- Contribute to the strategy and content development for the Digital Medical Communication activities, ensure the alignment with Beigene scientific priorities, support design and selection of appropriate digital channels and formats for the targeted dissemination of scientific information
- Lead the European level management and cross geographical coordination of internal data storage platform PowerBI and develop strategies for the tracking and demonstrations of Medical Affairs initiatives
- To serve as medical/ science resources to other functions: Marketing, Regulatory, Market Access, Pharmacovigilance groups
- Lead and coordinate complex Medical Affairs (MA) projects, incl. organizing and managing cross-functional project teams, supervision of vendor and scientific event management incl. contract and budget oversight, tracking of project progress and deliverables vs. plan, process optimization, training, internal and external publicity, communication plan, assuring the seamless integration into the overall MA services and deliveries
- Close collaboration with regional commercial teams regarding pre-launch, launch and commercialization support, assuring timely medical input and accuracy of medical/scientific content.
