Energy Market Expert and Product Manager

At Exnaton you will play a key role in designing and delivering a product that makes renewable energy more attractive. We are building a SaaS platform which enables utility companies to offer dynamic tariffs, to bill decentralized energy resources and to offer energy sharing to their customers. We are looking for someone that can cover a number of areas around our product management and future roadmap. Among others, your main responsibilities in this role are the following:
Tasks
- Collecting and analyzing customer needs and translating them into product features in close collaboration with our sales and engineering teams
- Understanding and collecting legal frameworks around energy market operations, pricing mechanisms, and renewable incentive schemes in new markets (e.g. Renewable Energy Directives, European Green Deal, US Inflation Reduction Act)
- Conceptualizing product features around pricing mechanisms, energy analytics, and demand side management for our platform
- Running statistical models and simulations for tariff structures and incentive models in different energy markets and at different price levels
- Refining AI-driven features for analyzing energy data and providing personalized user notifications
- Refining our product vision, and deriving and prioritizing product requirements for different customer groups and national markets
- Supporting development team with Python prototypes for new features and algorithms

We define ourselves by a culture of collaboration and ownership. We’re looking for a driven, capable, and thoughtful person to add to our mission. The main qualifications we expect you to have are the following:

- Masters degree in energy science, technology, engineering or energy-related field (profound technical understanding of technology and software is required) with extensive mathematical and statistical skills
- Understanding of Power Markets, Energy Flows and Processes in the Energy Market, Demand Side Management and Energy Economics
- Familiarity with European Renewable Energy Directives II and III, as well as US Inflation Reduction Act
- Familiarity with EPEX SPOT market and listed indexes
- Experience with processing time series data in Python, ideally with time-series forecasting
- Understanding of optimization modelling, machine learning models and AI technologies
- Professional fluency in English (written and spoken, required for product documentation and internal communication)
