Assistant Stateroom Steward/ess - Housekeeper 

US–Mississippi River 

Full-time employment: Earn up to $55,000 annually, participation in Viking’s gratuity program and employee benefits package, including health insurance.  Our major dock is in New Orleans, with other docking locations along the Mississippi. All travel expenses are covered by Viking.
 
ROLE OVERVIEW 

As part of our Housekeeping team your job is to provide guests with a professional, personalized housekeeping service at all times onboard in accordance with Viking’s STAR Service Standards.

You will report to the Assistant Housekeeper Manager.

WHAT YOU’LL DO ON BOARD  

Clean assigned areas (bathrooms, balconies, corridors, etc.) according to health policies. 

Stock and maintain lockers. 

Handle guest complaints and provide additional services (laundry, shoeshine, etc.). 

Follow health, safety, and security procedures. 

Adhere to grooming and image standards. 

Participate in luggage duty, training, and company activities. 

Willing and able to work 10-12 weeks straight on the ship followed by 3 weeks vacation. Rotations may change to 12 weeks on/4 weeks off in the future (Schedule & rotation may flucuate depending on occupancey and staffing needs)

ABOUT YOU  

2+ years’ experience as an Assistant Stateroom Steward/ess or similar at a 5-Star hospitality and/or restaurant environment; shipboard experience is an advantage 

Must be able to do extensive walking and have the ability to stand on feet for a long time; must be able to handle 50+ lbs. 

Guest-focused, service-oriented, positive personality, professional appearance and impeccable hygiene standards, must be able to deal with confidential information with competence and discretion. 

Must be able to work with various chemicals and cleaning tools and excellent knowledge of all Public Health Policies 

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS & AT WILL EMPLOYMENT: 

U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (green card) to work onboard the ship, as required by federal regulations

Ability to satisfactorily pass a pre-employment drug test. This includes testing for marijuana and other controlled substances. We are a drug-free and alcohol-free workplace.
