Garrett – Advancing Motion is looking for a General Counsel – EMEA Commercial & Global Aftermarket to join its team, supporting our Sr Vice President, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary. In this role, you will have global responsibility for optimizing and implementing legal strategies and processes for the EMEA Commercial function while fostering partnering relationships with the respective leadership and teams, to support growth, implement business plans and facilitate key strategic projects. You will provide legal advice especially on general commercial, contracts, litigation, anti-trust, mergers & acquisitions, marketing & communications and compliance issues. Your role will further encompass the prevention and minimization of legal and commercial risks, finding legally and commercially useful solutions, advising on legal best practices, and identifying and fostering business opportunities.  If you have leadership skills, know how to negotiate within this field and enjoy providing legal advice to executives on a variety of legal issues, Garrett – Advancing Motion would like to meet you. The position of the General Counsel – EMEA Commercial & Global Aftermarket will be a part of the Legal leadership team. EMEA Commercial:  • Oversee all legal matters and provide relevant legal guidance to leadership across all functions of the business • Manage, review, and advise on important contracts for the company • Establish necessary policies and training guidelines to ensure remains compliant with respect to any relevant laws or standards • Advise all stakeholders new laws, existing laws and legal rights that would impact functionality of the business and identify proactive solutions that will eliminate or mitigate risks • Develop legal strategy, objectives and processes that are aligned with each business sector • Conduct legal research and reviewing company's litigation strategy pertaining to legal actions  • Facilitate filings of licensing forms and other statutory requirements including but not limited any Intellectual Property matters • Manage relationships with external counsel and other parties (such as regulators, politicians, and etc.) Global Aftermarket: • Be the principal point of contact for Garrett’s Aftermarket leadership team globally • Lead the negotiation, drafting or review of various commercial contracts related to the support of the aftermarket business. • Play a key role in proactively managing risk through training and coaching, as well as through the creation and implementation of efficient contract governance processes. • Serve as a key resource on complex and critical issues. Experience: • Minimum of 10+ years’ experience practicing law at a top law firm or in-house • Comprehensive understanding of international anti-trust rules & regulations • Experience in the Automotive sector (or a related sector with strong OEM dynamics) would be an asset
