Neology is a Swiss cleantech startup developing next-generation ammonia-based energy systems and reactor technologies. By combining advanced thermo-chemical modeling, mechanical design, and practical prototyping, we are building scalable and efficient clean-energy solutions for industrial applications. We are now seeking a Technical Lead, Mechanical Design to drive the mechanical development of our reactor and power systems, working closely with our engineering team and local Swiss/European fabrication partners. Role & Responsibilities As Mechanical Design Technical Lead, you will: Lead the mechanical design of reactor components, subsystems, and full assemblies, from concept to manufacturable SolidWorks models. Translate thermo-chemical and COMSOL-based simulation outputs into structured mechanical designs and detailed engineering drawings. Work hands-on with Swiss/European manufacturers, welders, machinists, and prototyping workshops to ensure real-world manufacturability. Participate directly in prototype assembly, testing, design reviews, and iterative refinement of reactor hardware. Develop and maintain mechanical specifications, tolerances, and safety-aligned documentation for fabrication. Collaborate closely with system engineering, simulation, and chemical-process teams to integrate top-down design with bottom-up constraints. Support supplier sourcing, fabrication planning, and component qualification with local vendors. Candidate profile Mechanical Engineering Expertise: 5+ years in mechanical design, manufacturing engineering, or prototyping of complex systems. Experience with reactors, process equipment, thermal systems, pressure vessels, or similar high-performance hardware is a strong plus. SolidWorks Proficiency: Advanced capability in assembly modeling, detailed drawings, tolerances, and designing for manufacturability. Hands-On Builder: Practical experience working with fabrication shops, machining, welding, or prototype assembly. Comfortable spending time on the workshop floor. Manufacturing Literacy: Familiarity with Swiss or European manufacturing standards, fabrication culture, and supplier communication. Languages: Fluent in French and English (both required). Working German or Swiss German strongly preferred for interacting with local workshops. On-Site Presence: Must work full-time on-site in Switzerland due to close contact with fabrication partners and physical prototyping. Candidates must already be in Europe or be willing to relocate.
