JOB PURPOSE We are seeking a Senior Derivatives OTC Trader to manage a portfolio of exotic derivatives in the Sugar and Cocoa markets. The role involves automating trading tools, developing new products, and maintaining quantitative tools essential for trading activities. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in hedging instruments such as Accumulators, Barrier options, Digital options, and Strip options. A strong understanding of commodity markets—especially Sugar and Cocoa, is required to effectively recommend, manage, and balance hedges to mitigate volatility risks inherent to agribusiness clients. The trader will be responsible for managing a profitable portfolio by leveraging OTC market experience, hedging skills, and identifying proprietary trading opportunities through fundamental and quantitative analysis. Fluency in English and Portuguese, as is deep knowledge of the Brazilian agriculture industry. The position reports directly to the Head of Trading and Quantitative. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Lead and develop a team of junior traders, coordinating their activities and defining goals and deliverables. Collaborate closely with quantitative specialists to enhance trading strategies and tools. Develop and maintain trading tools and quantitative methodologies using Python, SQL, and C. Manage the full trade lifecycle: from trade inception, pre-trade analysis, execution, position management, to post-trade settlement and analysis. Provide tailored hedging solutions aligned with trading positions. Maintain a deep understanding of agribusiness markets and the key drivers impacting each commodity complex. Analyze FX and economic factors influencing market positions. Represent the company at agribusiness events, including participation in Risk Management Panels as a speaker or attendee. Work with global teams to identify new business opportunities and sustain current P&L performance. Periodically review and improve the Business Plan for the EMEA region. Oversee dealing processes for trading projects. Evaluate and approve econometric models supporting trading analysis. Identify and act on proprietary trading opportunities using fundamental and quantitative insights. Prepare and present market analysis materials during daily meetings with global teams. QUALIFICATIONS Essential: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Engineering, or related fields with a focus on Computer Programming. Proven experience in OTC derivatives trading within commodity markets. Fluency in English and Portuguese. Deep knowledge of the Brazilian agriculture industry. Technical Skills: Expertise in trading and portfolio management of commodities. Strong knowledge of trading operations, accounting, compliance, risk management, and post-trade portfolio valuation. Deep understanding of agribusiness and economic market dynamics. Advanced analytical skills to assess portfolio performance and market opportunities. Proficiency in programming languages: Python, SQL, C, and VBA. Experience with proprietary and systematic trading strategies.
