Our Research Group Human Performance Lab at the Department of Teaching, Research and Development is seeking a Research Assistant (MSc level) to join our research team starting on January 1, 2026 or later. The group's primary focus is functional outcome research (neuromuscular/biomechanical) based on data collected in our in-house laboratory. Your responsibilities Lead and support patient assessments, including data collection, processing and data control. Support the planning, design and execution of functional outcome research studies. Collaborate closely with clinical teams, including orthopaedic surgeons, physiotherapist, radiologists. Assist in scientific writing and communication, including manuscript preparation, conference abstracts, and dissemination of findings to both academic and clinical audiences. Supervise and mentor Master students, providing guidance on research design, data assessment, analysis and scientific writing. Your profile Master's degree (MSc) in Health Science and Technology, Movement Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Physiotherapy or a related field. Solid knowledge and experience in neuromuscular and biomechanical data collection and analysis. Direct experience in high-density surface EMG decomposition and marker-based motion capture is required. Expertise in programming skills (Phyton, Matlab, R) and sound knowledge of statistical methodology and data science, ideally in relation to EMG and motion capture data. Sound knowledge of all aspects of the clinical research process from planning to publication, in accordance with Good Clinical Practice procedures. Excellent organizational and planning skills, with the ability to prioritize day-to-day tasks, meet deadlines and work with a variety of staff and teams. Excellent English (spoken and written, especially scientific/medical English). German language skills (minimum: comprehension level), or strong willingness to learn.
