Job Title: Savory Technical Project Leader Plant-Based Innovation Expert

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Savory Technical Project Leader Plant-Based Innovation Expert to join our team at dsm-firmenich. As a key member of our innovation team, you will be responsible for managing innovation programs for savory plant-based developments, ensuring technical development is designed, planned, tracked, and executed on-time and on-budget to meet agreed objectives, deliverables, and timelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage innovation program for savory plant-based developments, ensuring technical development is designed, planned, tracked, and executed on-time and on-budget to meet agreed objectives, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Build and execute a stage gate process innovation project from scratch, and/or pick-up existing projects and/or workstreams and be able to progress and complete with an existing or newer vision.
  • Manage, structure or restructure, set objectives, milestones, tasks, deliverables, and overall project tracking (tasks, milestones, and resources) with defined timelines.
  • Be able to manage projects and teams virtually across borders.
  • Be able to understand, interpret, digest, analyze and communicate scientific and technical results, data, and findings (creation, application, sensory, consumer and S&R analytical data).
  • Integrate technical and scientific data and findings, into an innovation program with a vision.
  • Be able to fluently speak, write, understand, and present in English.
  • Formal and informal communications and coordination of technical team.
  • Updates of progress/results to technical team, extended technical team (S&R, GRS, etc.), innovation organization, strategic business units, regions, and customers.

Requirements:
  • University degree in Science or Engineering, (preferably a Master or Ph.D.) in Food Science, Chemistry, Food Chemistry, Food Technology, or related area.
  • At least 10 years of relevant working experience on Innovation, R&D, Project Management preferably with a Global Food or Beverage CPG company, or with a Flavor and Fragrance company.
  • Be able to fluently speak, write, understand, and present in English (Mandatory); another foreign language is an advantage but not required.
  • Experience in project management, rigorous, with a strong analytical mindset and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • PMP certification is an asset; formal training or highly experienced on PM is a must.
  • Experience managing and been part of a multidisciplinary global innovation or R&D project.
  • Good knowledge of global consumer trends in meat/fish/cheese analogues is desired.
  • Competition knowledge is an asset.
  • Familiar with the regulatory and legal environment of food flavorings and ingredients.
  • Must know basic MS software (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook, other), and Project Management Software: ie. MS Project, Project Libre, or similar.
