About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our efforts in mobilizing private and philanthropic sector investments in blue finance opportunities. As the Blue Finance Lead, you will play a critical role in enabling a wider ocean investment ecosystem and driving the sustainable development of the ocean economy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a strategic plan to mobilize private and philanthropic sector investments in blue finance opportunities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including philanthropies, corporates, and financial institutions, to identify and secure investment opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to design and deliver events, programming, and research to support the development of blue finance solutions.
  • Identify and explore opportunities for public-private-philanthropic partnerships to drive large-scale impact in the ocean.
  • Lead the Global Future Council on a Regenerative Blue Economy and work closely with the OAA and GAEA teams to achieve shared goals.
Requirements
  • Master's or doctoral degree in a relevant field, such as finance, business management, economics, or international relations.
  • 7-10 years of relevant professional experience in the public, private, or civil society sectors, with significant experience building partnerships and mobilizing finance across sectors.
  • Excellent project and donor relationship management skills, with the ability to drive philanthropic-public-private partnerships at the global level.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative environment and work with top-level representatives of partnering organizations.
