The German Red Cross (GRC) is part of a global community that provides humanitarian assistance to people affected by conflicts, disasters, and health-related crises. As a Finance Delegate, you will be part of the Operations & National Society Cooperation Department in the International Cooperation Division of GRC.
Job Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Delegate to join our Global Surge Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing financial management and support to our emergency response missions, as well as contributing to the development of our financial management systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Deploy to emergency response missions with GRC, IFRC, or ICRC, and provide financial management and support.
- Ensure that all financial procedures and reports comply with GRC and donor standards.
- Coordinate operational services and set up financial structures for efficient management of financial resources.
- Support the rollout of Microsoft Dynamics 365 as GRC's Enterprise Resource System (ERP).
- Strengthen the capacity of GRC finance delegates and local finance staff through training and capacity building.
- Represent GRC and liaise with IFRC, ICRC, and other Red Cross Movement partners on financial matters.
- Academic training in economics and/or financial management.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, and procurement in international humanitarian/development cooperation.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in financial reporting and administration.
- Working knowledge of donor requirements (Federal Foreign Office, BMZ, ECHO).
- Excellent computer skills in MS Office and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations Module.
- Logistics and procurement experience is a strong asset.
- Work experience within the Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement is a strong asset.
- Willingness to travel to disaster areas and areas with a tense security situation at short notice.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships at all levels.
- Good understanding of the Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement and its global response tools.
- Oral and written fluency in English and German.
