Strategic Product Marketing and Merchandising Director

The Product Marketing and Merchandising Director is a pivotal role within Baume & Mercier, a member of the Executive Committee and reporting directly to the CEO.

Main Objectives

Develop a comprehensive 5-year product roadmap and propose product strategies and marketing mixes for each collection.

Ensure product alignment across all stakeholders (Design, Industry, Operations, Sales, Communication) to achieve sales, profitability, and launch dates.

Prepare structured and creative product briefs annually to enhance design and substance for all collections targeting men, women, sport, and watchmaking.

Oversee the development of product differentiation, positioning, messaging, go-to-market strategies, and product life cycle management.

Analyze key performance indicators (quantity, sales, margins, product life cycle).

Ensure departmental alignment and adherence to a unified market-driven strategic path.

Collaborate with Marketing and Communication to synchronize efforts across marketings, ensuring alignment with global launch calendars and animation strategies.

Manage internal and external product strategy and narrative communication.

Establish and collect data for comprehensive business, client, market, and competitive analysis to inform strategic product decisions.

Develop and support Merchandising strategies and product assortments to optimize customer experience and reinforce brand identity in retail.

Lead the Maison's Heritage, including the Museum collection, Heritage history, and auction house relationships.

Act as a visionary leader who inspires innovation and creativity.

Required Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field;
  • At least 8 years of experience in Product Marketing and Merchandising;
  • Strong knowledge of the luxury watchmaking industry;
  • Strong leadership abilities to manage and inspire a team;
  • Entrepreneurial spirit;
  • Demonstrates creative and original thinking with strong problem-solving abilities;
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with a diverse team;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to orchestrate and manage all details required to produce effective product strategies;
  • Demonstrate ability to build a compelling case and convey it effectively;
  • Thrives when handling multiple projects simultaneously and is strategic and efficient in managing them;
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to effectively communicate ideas, strategies, and results to diverse audiences;
  • Ability to remain composed and operate effectively in high-pressure situations;
  • Possess passion, knowledge, and curiosity for Arts, Design, and culture.
