Director of Quality Assurance

Lonza, a global leader in life sciences, seeks an experienced leader to drive quality assurance for a critical Capex project in Visp, Switzerland. As Associate Director, Global Quality Engineering, Project Delivery Visp, you will oversee Quality Assurance activities and lead the Global Quality Engineering team to ensure project completion on-time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:- Own all quality-related responsibilities for the CQV Lifecycle Program for new facilities, equipment, and utilities related to GMP manufacturing of biologics & APIs.
- Coordinate with team members to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Oversee department operations, including hiring and terminating staff members as needed.
- Manage day-to-day operations, providing direction and oversight to staff members.
- Monitor industry trends and share information with colleagues to ensure relevance in the field.
- Develop long-term strategies for the Visp Project Portfolio, including setting goals and creating plans for achieving them.
- Master of Science in Bio-Engineering or a related field.
- Experience working in a GMP-related environment in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Proven work experience in a Quality Unit, ideally in Biologics or Cell Gene.
- Proficient experience in CAPEX execution, with green-field experience an advantage.
- Experience in Regulatory inspections.
- Leadership experience is an advantage.
- Proficient experience in Project Management and Stakeholder Management, with certification an advantage.
- Fluent in English, with German language skills an advantage.
