Job SummaryThe Legal Adviser will play a critical role in supporting the Head of Legal Services in providing expert advice on contract, data protection, and copyright law. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in these areas and a strong understanding of the relevant laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Contract Management
- Provide advice on the review, drafting, and negotiation of contracts, including SaaS, Supply and Consultancy Agreements, Partnerships, and other relevant agreements.
- Manage contractual risks and develop mitigations to ensure compliance with ISO's policies and procedures.
- Data Protection
- Review relevant documentation and propose contractual measures to ensure compliance with Swiss data protection law.
- Draft and review data processing agreements, review data subjects' requests, and conduct due diligence on new suppliers.
- Copyright and Trademark Management
- Advise on copyright-related issues, particularly in relation to the interpretation of ISO's policy and enforcement.
- Manage ISO Central Secretariat trademark registrations and renewals, including administrative tasks.
- Training and Development
- Assist in the preparation of governance documents related to the work/mandate of the Legal Services.
- Develop training materials and provide legal training to ISO staff.
- Communication and Liaison
- Liaise with and oversee anti-piracy service providers, including preparation of data analysis on trends and opportunities.
- Update the wiki and member portal of the Legal Services pages.
- Knowledge Management
- Keep abreast of legislative changes that may affect areas of interest for the organization.
- Qualifications
- Extensive experience in contract, data protection, and copyright law.
- Degree in Law. Additional specialization/certificate in IP law and/or data protection would be a clear asset.
- Skills
