About the Job

We are looking for an exceptional researcher to lead the operation of the Liquid Argon (LAr) Calorimeter and contribute to its Phase-II upgrade for HL-LHC. As part of the ATLAS experiment, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of technicians, students, and scientists covering all aspects of the LAr calorimeter operation.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Supervising the LAr calorimeter operation, including the supervision of a team of technicians, students, and scientists.
  • Coordinating efforts at CERN for tests, including reception of deliverables and system tests, needed for the construction of new LAr electronics for HL-LHC.
  • Leading the preparations for installation and commissioning of new LAr electronics on the ATLAS detector.

Qualifications:

  • PhD or equivalent relevant experience in the field of Physics, with specialization in particle detectors or a related field.
  • Experience with installing and commissioning new subdetector electronics and integrating a system within a particle collider experiment.
  • Demonstrated experience with carrying out particle detector data analysis, especially in terms of detector operation and performance.
