Project Engineering Manager, Pharmaceutical Facility

Lonza, a global leader in life sciences, seeks a Project Lead to drive the delivery of Small Molecules (SM) medium/small investment projects. This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to innovative project delivery in Switzerland.
About the RoleThis role entails developing and implementing project plans, ensuring strict budget adherence, and overseeing project teams. Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing project plans across Engineering, Design, Construction, and Commissioning phases
- Managing project budgets and leading changes while maintaining financial discipline
- Ensuring safety, quality, and compliance with internal procedures and health authority requirements
- Cordinating project teams, assigning tasks, and managing work for efficient execution
- Nurturing talent growth and establishing clear career paths
- Monitoring project progress, identifying potential issues, and implementing corrective actions
- Aligning projects with relevant regulations and legal requirements
- Managing project risks through effective strategy development
- Communicating project status and issues to senior management for transparency and alignment
To succeed in this role, you will require:
- Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering or a related field
- Proven experience in project engineering and management within process, power, infrastructure industries, with a focus on pharmaceutical experience
- Broad technical knowledge across various engineering fields, including process, automation, mechanical & piping, and civil engineering
- Cost control and scheduling expertise related to investment projects
- Knowledge of modern commissioning approaches for efficient production setup
- Ability to lead and collaborate in a team-oriented environment
- Proficiency in English and German
As a valued member of the Lonza team, you will enjoy a competitive salary range estimated at CHF 120,000 - 180,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. Additionally, you can expect:
