Process Engineer for Carbon Capture and Utilization

Job Summary
Holcim is committed to reducing its carbon footprint and achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. As part of this initiative, we are seeking a highly skilled Process Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of carbon capture and utilization technologies.
Main Responsibilities
- Evaluate and develop promising CCUS concepts and technologies in cement plants, collaborating with the corporate CC function and country organizations.
- Participate in the full process design, from early project stages to feasibility, pre-FEED, FEED, and EPC, to position CO2 capture technologies and solutions.
- Propose safe, innovative, and optimized solutions to reduce CAPEX/Opex costs, such as investment, electricity, environmental impact, CO2, and other operating costs.
- Identify and manage process interfaces with existing and new facilities, including pyro systems, flue gas treatment plants, and plant infrastructure for Carbon Capture plants.
- Execute process engineering tasks in flue gas treatment systems in CC projects, ensuring compliance with safety and process design standards.
- Coach and empower project teams in countries and regions to drive CCUS projects and studies.
Requirements
- Bachelor or Master's degree in Industrial Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in process engineering for FGT systems in carbon capture systems, including technology selection and its impact on process design.
- Experience working on a cement plant, technical leadership in FGT of CC plant concept development, and project scoping and bid proposal evaluation.
- Knowledge of chemical process simulation software and manufacturing background in the petrochemical industry, industrial gas production, or carbon capture industry.
- Strong listening, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact with different levels in the organization and with people abroad.
Language Skills
- Fluent in English (oral and written).
- Other languages are a plus.
