Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled researcher to join our team at Combustion, Acoustics & Flow Physics (CAPS) as a PhD researcher. The successful candidate will work on a project focused on combustion instabilities of hydrogen flames, combining experiments and modeling.

Research Focus

The research will involve experimental work on a lab-scale, high-pressure test facility, utilizing laser-based optical diagnostics. Additionally, the candidate will develop analytical low-order models of combustion instabilities and perform large eddy simulations of the compressible Navier-Stokes equations.

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in Mechanical Engineering or Physics, preferably with a MSc degree. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of fluid mechanics, combustion, and acoustics, as well as excellent math and physics skills. Experience with experimental techniques and computational modeling is highly desirable.
