About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Applied Physicist to join our team as a Calorimeter Detector Physicist. As a key member of our Experimental Physics department, you will play a crucial role in the operation and development of particle detectors.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Supervise a team of technicians, students, and scientists in the operation of the LAr calorimeter.
- Coordinate efforts at CERN for the construction of new LAr electronics for HL-LHC.
- Prepare and lead a team to transition current software and firmware to the upgraded electronics.
- Contribute to simulation, design, and development efforts in R&D activities related to Noble Liquid Calorimeters.
What You Need to Succeed
- PhD in Physics with specialization in particle detectors or a related field.
- Proven post-doctoral experience in developing and operating particle physics detectors.
- Experience with installing and commissioning subdetector electronics and integrating systems within particle collider experiments.
- Demonstrated experience with carrying out particle detector data analysis and hardware firmware and software development.
- Proven experience in coordinating multi-disciplinary teams and developing data acquisition, handling, and analysis.
