The AO Foundation is a leading education, innovation, and research organization specializing in the surgical treatment of trauma and musculoskeletal disorders.

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Scientist to join our team at the AO Research Institute.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of new biopolymer technologies through rational chemical synthesis and work on understanding their physical and biological properties.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out scientific work related to the project, particularly chemical synthesis of biopolymers and their characterization.
  • Evaluating, discussing, and presenting results within the AO Research Institute.
  • Maintaining lab books and all relevant project documentation.

We require a strong interest in biomaterials development and a strong theoretical knowledge or some basic experience with chemical synthesis and biopolymer characterization.

The ideal candidate is currently studying or has recently completed BSc/MSc studies in chemistry, biomaterials, biomedical engineering, nanotechnology, or similar fields.
