About the Role
As a key member of Roche's Pharmaceutical Research and Early Development organization (pRED), we are seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to lead our Immunology Early Development team. The successful candidate will be responsible for advancing early clinical immunology development programs from preclinical studies through proof of concept and dose ranging phase 2 studies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the strategy for the immunology early clinical development portfolio and pipeline, ensuring alignment with the organization's overall ambitions.
- Lead and mentor a team of clinical scientists, medical directors, and project team leaders, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project delivery.
- Work closely with clinical phase project teams to ensure timely and effective execution of clinical and clinical biomarker development plans, objectives, and deliverables.
- Chair the Development Review Committee, providing key feedback and guidance on project strategy and plans, and represent Immunology on the pRED Early Strategic Portfolio Committee.
- Collaborate with Roche Pharma Late Stage Development, Global Product Strategy, Regulatory, and Clinical Operations teams to ensure seamless integration and alignment across the organization.
- Explore and implement collaborations with industry and academia to increase understanding of disease biology, facilitate the prosecution of portfolio in early clinical development, and build our clinical portfolio.
Requirements
- MD or MD/PhD with at least 5-10 years of experience in pharmaceutical research and development, with a strong understanding of immune-mediated diseases, clinical trial design and methodology, biomarkers, and diagnostics.
- Proven track record of successfully translating molecules from discovery into the clinical setting, with a solid understanding of regulatory, payer, and commercial issues in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with peers across a matrix organization to deliver on common goals.
- Strong strategic vision, with the ability to communicate and inspire teams to achieve exceptional results.
- Ability to make difficult decisions, prioritize key objectives, and empower teams to succeed.
